MARY ROCHE - SENIOR UNDERWRITING MANAGER
Mary began her career with the Home Insurance Company in 1978 as a property underwriter. In 1981, she joined the regional office of American General Fire & Casualty Company (AGF&C) as an Assistant Field Underwriting Administrator. In this position she placed property reinsurance, assisted in underwriting audits of the branch offices, and approved accounts over the branch’s authority. She was then promoted to Commercial Lines Manager of the Lubbock Branch gaining experience in all commercial lines of business. Mary moved back to Houston in 1985 as a Field Underwriting Administrator responsible for the overall underwriting performance of three branch offices. She developed underwriting guidelines, approved risks outside their authority, and assisted the branch’s review of those agents that had underwriting authority.
In 1990, Mary moved to Dallas with the Maryland Casualty Company as an Area Manager. In this position, she was responsible for the underwriting and marketing efforts of the branch. In 1994, the company reorganized under the Zurich name and began focusing its underwriting on target markets. Mary began working with North American Solutions as a school underwriter shortly thereafter. She joined the North American Solutions’ team in 2003 as the Senior Underwriter for the public school programs in Texas and Louisiana.
Born and raised in Beaumont, Mary received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Lamar University. Over the years, she has earned numerous designations and currently holds a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Underwriting, and Associate in Risk Management designations. Mary has two children and lives in Cypress, Texas.
